FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A Little Friendly Competition for a Great Cause!

The First Annual Luke Pier Foundation Softball Tournament

Charlotte, N.C., September 4, 2007 - The Luke Pier Foundation will hold its First Annual Softball Tournament at Renaissance Park on October 13, 2007.  The goal of this event is to raise funds for The Luke Pier Foundation, which was founded when Luke Pier, an energetic 13 year old, was diagnosed with a dilated aortic root. Luke is being monitored to determine the relationship between his aneurysm and a connective tissue disorder.  The doctors are monitoring his aorta to determine when surgery will be necessary.

The competition includes both a men’s and a co-ed’s tournament.  Teams and sponsors are still being actively recruited for this event.  If you are interested in playing in the tournament, sponsoring a team, or giving a donation, please contact Kim Marshall at 704-502-3517 or jazzy-opera-chick@carolina.rr.com.
